I'm so happy you made it to my blog! It's run by me, the owner of Shana Logic (shana! ;-) and I'll be sure to keep you up to date with new arrivals, contests, exclusive discount codes AND the cutest stuff on the block!
I hope you enjoy the blog and consider buying handmade and indie at Shana Logic!
I have two little sisters and one of them (rachel), dropped by today to have sushi with me – yum! Anyways, we were playing around with makeup and doing general girlie stuff when we decided to take some pics for absolutely no reason at all. I really like this one of her though! She looks so cute in my mini top hat–man her hair is SO much better than mine!
The reality of doing this video is that it’s really really weird to see what I’m like talking–it’s so strange! The first time around watching it, I just covered my face and cringed but hey: This is who I am so I best rock it!
Just thought I’d snap a quick photo of my blue lips today before I go into the shop!
To get the best out of your LC lipsticks, I find it’s always a good idea to line your lips first. Obviously I don’t have blue lip liner but I DID have dark blue eye liner so I used that and really liked how the darker blue looked mixed in with the bright blue!
This year was a fun xmas for me because I didn’t tell anyone what I wanted. Maybe that made it torturous for the givers to come up with items to give me that I’d like. Maybe I should have given them clues? But I didn’t and I was pleasantly surprised with what I got: super comfy pjs, a lovely bird feeder (a.k.a squirrel feeder!), gorgeous handmade necklace and even a handmade squirrel teapot cozy (i need to take pics of that one:-)
Here’s some highlights:
This is Harvey the Squirrel from mah sistah:-)
This amazing buck’s head was from my husband (I am obsessed with mounted plushes)
My brother-in-law’s girlfriend got me this book! It’s so funny and features a lot of my favorite blog posts from his site:-)
And Rey who knows me so well, got me this fabulous “Avengine Narwhal” Play Set!
So, I decided to FINALLY star in my very own style file featuring Me — ooooh, how exciting! I chose clothes from my closet and mixed in some of my favorite pieces from the shop. This amazing photo was taken by Rey:-) I hope you likey!
Some of my blog peeps asked me to show them some wedding pics and I was taking my sweet time! While I was away on my camping trip, sneaky Mel found some of my wedding photos (well, they are actually right in my facebook profile but I totally forgot they were there! :P ) so I thought that would be a great opportunity to share the fun;-)
I didn’t have a traditional wedding. I had actually planned on having one, but as we got deeper into the planning stages, it just started to feel not quite right for Toby and I. We had been together for over 5 years and wanted to have a really unique memory of the beginning of our marriage.
In the beginning I was pressured by a lot of people who insisted that I’d regret not walking down an aisle or wearing the big fancy dress. People definitely didn’t think the destination wedding was the thing to do but I rarely conformed in other facets of my life though so it seemed like a great idea to do something different from the norm:-)
We got married in the valley of fire 6 years ago in october (it’s weird how I can never seem to remember the exact dates). We chose it mainly because we had a limited budget but it was still unusual (originally we wanted to get married in ireland but alas, no cash monies!) The valley of fire is a desert with bright red rocks and sand in the middle of Nevada. It’s used for the filming of many movies because of how distinct it looks. We didn’t exactly “elope” because my parents totally knew about it:-) It was just us and two of our close friends (you might recognize my bff Troy in the photo)!
We were driven out to the Valley of Fire in the morning because it gets really hot so we had to start early. I’m NOT a morning person so I insisted that we stop so I could get some sort of coffee drink;-)
The desert was amazing and totally awe-inspiring…not to mention that it was completely empty except for us! The reverend dude was waiting for us with a cake and champagne and the ceremony was short and sweet;-)
It was so much fun! Because it was such an inexpensive wedding, we didn’t really take it super seriously and it was EPICWIN when it turned out to be so awesome! My mom always teased me in high school that I’d get married in my combat boots. 10 years later, I actually did!
Lucky me! I just purchased my very first Susie Ghahremani Painting!!
I couldn’t afford a large piece but I fell in love with this mini painting the minute I saw it and it’s just spectacular in real life– so much detail and accuracy on something so small:-) Plus, no one in the WORLD will own it so that makes it even more special to me:-)
Today was the first warm day in michigan this year AND st. patty’s day so I was feeling a little festive.
This one is super easy.
Eyes:lime criminal, jinx, black mascara, dark liner, duo eye lash glue (optional)
1. Wet a small brush and dip it into the lime criminal pigment. Mix the water and pigment in the lid. Then generously paint it on your upper lid.
2. I use eyelash glue to stick the glitter onto my eyes. This way I don’t have to worry about it falling off! If you want, you can just paint it on with water but then you have to be careful not to touch your eyes! Take a tiny bit of eyelash glue ( I used duo) and put a little on an angle brush. Then dab that into the jinx glitter so it’s coated. Then you just line the lid of your eye like you’re using liquid liner. Line your eye with jinx, going back over any parts that you don’t think are covered enough.
3. Put some mascara on your lashes and a little liner under your eye and you’re done!
4. If you feel like it, add a sticker! (i chose a heart;-)
