‘nother makeup mornin’

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Ever since I started getting questions about how to apply limecrime makeup, I’ve started having all sorts of makeup fun in the mornings! Yesterday I did a fun MAC gold thing and this morning I decided to do a limecrime blending thing. I’m sorry if you are sick of me posting pics of my eyes (this morning taken’ with my cell phone!) but it’s just so much fun and well… I wanna share the love with ma peeps (that’s you;-)

I applied all of the colors wet and then did some dry blending so the colors would flow into one another (you’ll notice that I skipped the eye liner entirely because i’m a wimp!)

Eyes:
- I applied lime criminal (green) with a wet brush.
- Then I applied empress (purple) in the crease of my lid on the edges also wet.
- I then painted on some twilight (blue-ish lavender) wet on the middle where the two end colors met up, so that they would blend into one another better.
- I cleaned it up with some dry brushing of the colors over the wet parts just to get the blending to look softer
- I finished with a little nymph dry brushed over the whole thing for shimmer (my camera never picks that up!) and some finishing powder to set it.

Note to self: buy some new colors!! ;-)

Fafi – limecrime tutorial!

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Xenia, the creator of limecrime (and a gorgeous model!) posted an amazing new tutorial on her blog!

This particular one features her interpretation of the graffiti character Fafi!

  • Eyeshadows: Shoe Addict, Mermaid
  • Eyes: Eyeshadow Primer, mascara, false lashes, liquid liner, white pencil
  • Lips: hot pink lipstick & lip liner
  • Face: Foundation Primer, concealer, foundation
  • Cheeks: hot pink lipstick, dark pink (or berry) lip liner

To find out how she did this look step-by-step, check out her tutorial!

limecrime first, shower 2nd!

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

So, I just got back from a grueling workout (I hate sweating!!) and was about to take a shower but then I thought….”why don’t I go totally crazy with limecrime and THEN shower??!”

I’m not sure that what I came up with is exactly glamorous (I don’t own liquid liner–argh!) but it’s completely random with NO planning whatsoever so if it seems that way…it is!

Sometimes it’s just fun to do things on the fly and see what happens!

If I could change anything, it’s be the black liner– If I had liquid liner I think it’d be a lot more precise looking.

I can’t really give a tutorial (i’m not sure anyone would want one?) but I used:

EYES: Lime Criminal (green) , Nymph (gold) and twilight (purple), black liner (don’t use a pencil–it sucked!) mascara, rhinestone blingy in the corner

I really hope no one drops by in the next 10 minutes because I’m still in my workout gear and I only did one eye!

If any of you did any crazy experimenting with your makeup (or feel like doing it now) feel free to link to a pic in the comments!!

1 minute limecrime eyes!

Here’s a more subtle limecrime look (at least I think it’s more subtle;-) that I did in about 1 minute! (please bare with my photos– I took em’ myself in some pretty bad lighting. My eyes are a lot more sparkly than these pics show;-)

Eyes: Lime Criminal, Nymph, mascara, one small brush (about .25″ wide)

Face: Sheer magik finishing powder, a mac concealer for under my eyes (can anyone say “baggy!”? ;-)

Lots of people ask me how to apply limecrime shadows. The easiest way to apply limecrime without making a mess is to dip your brush into some tap water and then lightly dip it into the powder. Take that and brush it into the lid of the container. Using the lid to mix the potency of your shadow makes everything every easy! (you can apply it dry for a lighter look too;-)

1. Take a dab of lime criminal and mix it with a drop of water into the lid. Then brush it on the top of the eyelid generously up to the crease. The more powder you brush on, obviously the brighter it will become. I winged the shadow out a little beyond my lid and then brought it down under my eye for a little green “liner.”

2. Take nymph and apply it wet to the corners of the lid as well as applying it up to the brow for some shimmer. It will apply shimmer without much color. I also painted nymph into the inside corners of my eyes and brought it down under my eye for some gold “liner” on the inside. (putting shimmer in the corners of your eyes can brighten them up if you have deeper set eyes or darker skin in the corners.

3. This is an optional step but it will “seal” the shadows. Take some sheer magik powder and very lightly dust it onto your lids to set it.

4. Apply mascara.

Face:

5. I applied blush and concealer (though I couldn’t zoom back far enough to show you!). Do your concealer AFTER you apply your shadows– that way you can cover anything you didn’t get perfect;-)

6. A final fun optional touch! If you want a little extra shimmer. you can paint some nymph over your lipgloss or lipstick and it will add a golden hue to it;-)

Aqua Charge LimeCrime Tutorial

Monday, December 29th, 2008

The fabulous (and sparkly) Brooke posted this fabulous tutorial at her blog and said I could share it all with you!

How did she do it??

Lime Crime Magic Eye Dust:
-Elf
-Empress

-Circus Girl

-Nymph

-Turquoise glitter liquid liner (I used M.A.C. glitter liquid liner)
(you can now use LimeCrime Glitters like Jinx, and voodoo queen!),
-black mascara

  1. With a medium brush I applied Circus Girl (yellow) to the inner eye – starting at the inner corner to about the centre of the eyelid.
  2. With a slightly smaller brush I applied Elf (green) to the outer half of the eye – starting from the outer corner to the edge of the Circus Girl shade.
  3. Apply Empress (purple) to the centre line of the eyelid where the colours join - blend slightly.
  4. With a flat brush I applied Elf across the crease of my eyelid starting just above the inner corner right the way to the outer corner of my eye. You can bring the colour out as high as you desire – for a more dramatic look bring the colour higher to your brow bone.
  5. I wet a small flat brush and applied Elf to the lower lashes pulling the colour outwards. Then apply Empress directly below the Elf from the centre of the eye outwards. To highlight my eyes I applied Circus Girl to the bottom inner eye and appled Nymph (gold/white) along the brow bone.
  6. Apply glitter turquoise eyeliner to the top lashline (or use limecrime glitters) and apply black mascara.

*To make the colours more vibrant wet the brush before applying eyeshadows and use a primer*

A little limecrime fun;-)

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

The other day Corene’s daughter Ashley came to the shop to help model a bunch of items (she’s gorgeous like her mom;-)

Before we did the shoot we dabbled with a little bit of limecrime makeup!

How did we get this subtle but colorful look?

Eyes: Empress, Lime Criminal, Nymph

If you want bold bright colors, you can use a lotion on the eyes before applying but I wanted a softer look because Ashley has a natural beauty so I applied everything onto dry eyelids.

- I put lime criminal green all over the lid and up to the brow for a dramatic effect.
- Then I applied empress purple into the lid creases and out from there and then blended it into the green
- Finally, I put a little nymph into the corners of her eyes for a little golden shimmer (it’s really hard to see in these pics!
- We also used a little mascara and blue eyeliner underneath her eyes

Face: Marie Antoinette Blush, Sheer magik finishing powder

I used a tiny bit sheer magik finishing powder for a paler complexion (if you have dry skin, make sure to use a lot of lotion or foundation before applying)

After that I brushed on the Marie Antoinette Blush on the apples of her cheeks.

Lips: tinted chapstick, Nymph

If you have any tinted chapsticks like burts bees or any other type, put some on your lips, then brush a little of nymph on there and rub your lips together for golden shimmer.

Ok! I know my pics aren’t the best but hopefully you like? ;-)

xenia and her lovely eyes!

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

It’s official. Limecrime makeup is a HIT at Shana Logic! It’s been flying out of the shop and I really hope I get some happy shopper makeup pics;-)

In the meantime, here’s my favorite makeup look that Xenia has done (she’s the creator of limecrime AND the model–so gorgeous!)

Want her eyes and amazing skin-tone?

Eyes:

- Snow Queen (white/turquoise sparkle)

- Nymph (white/gold)

- Empress (purple)

- Duchess (blue-green).

TIP 1: she also used black mascara and a blue eyeliner pencil that aren’t limecrime…yet! ;-)
TIP 2: Remember, if you want the really deep colors that limecrime is famous for, make sure to use a foundation or primer liquid.

Face:

- Blush: Marie Antoinette (pale pink)

- Finishing powder: Sheer Magik Pixie Dust

TIP 1: Feel free to use a foundation or concealer on your skin before applying the blush and finishing powder (unless you were gifted with perfect skin;-)

Here’s a closeup of her eyes so you can see the details:

Ack– Must go play with makeup now!
