Avant-Garde Hair Inspiration

I LOVE the art of Avant Garde hairdressing. It’s so inspirational! I’m so into the organic quality of the styles and I’m especially drawn to the more ‘romantic’ styling with exaggerated curls and small texture detailing (think Antoinette and mermaids!)

I especially love this one because it’s actually something a “regular” person could pull off (though maybe it’s not really avant-garde then?)

This one is less “fashion-y” but I LOVE the explosion of butterflies!

Amazing texture!! The top of the head almost doesn’t look like hair while the bottom appears more like a shawl than actual hair!

I’d love to try to do something like this – I’ve seen shows on TV where they wrap foam balls (the kind from a craft shop) with extensions and pin them into the hair. I’ve always wanted to try that!

What do you think? Too crazy or totally awesome?

    Crazy?-Most Definitely.
    Awesome?-Umm, DUH!

I can totally picture fairies and nymphs flying around with their hair up in these styles. :P

These are so crazy!XD But since I draw some pretty crazy styles and want a Visual Kei cut,I love them. That’s so true about that one braid-ish style,a normal person could definitely do that in maye 15-20 minutes and look normal, maybe a little super model-ish!X3

My fave is the 4th one, with the red flowers in it. Oh to have the chutzpah to do it ;oP
And the last one is old Hollywood meets avante-garde, so you can’t go wrong there!

I can’t imagine sitting for the hours it would take to put one of those styles together! I’m already dreading getting my hair “done” for my wedding in July. I do like the braided one. If my hair were longer, I could totally do that. The others… well… probably not. I love the look of the first one, it looks like dessert collided with old Victorian.

Linda – it would definitely take a LONG time! I got hair extensions once and it took them 2 hours to put them in (and I only got like 1/3 the amount other people got!)
